Who is Clare Recreation?

You’ve probably seen us around town—planning and delivering community celebrations like Canada Day, Acadian Day, Pride, and holiday festivities, or hosting programs that keep Clare active through drop-in sessions, tournaments, active challenges, and signature events like Cape to Cliff.

Clare Recreation is part of the Community Development Department, and we’re proud to be hands-on in our community year-round. Our work is about more than programs—it’s about creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where people of all ages can connect, stay active, express themselves, and feel a strong sense of belonging. We bring passion, creativity, and care to everything we do, and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to do the same.

Who is Our Ideal Candidate?

Our ideal Recreation Programs Coordinator is enthusiastic, creative, and energized by community life. You love taking an idea and turning it into a well-run, engaging program or event—from planning and promotion to delivery and wrap-up. You’re a natural organizer and communicator who enjoys working with a wide mix of people, including community members, volunteers, partners, vendors, and staff.

You take ownership of your work and thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days look the same. One moment you might be marketing a new program, the next you’re mentoring summer staff, coordinating logistics for a community celebration, or problem-solving on the fly during an event. You’re adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable switching gears to support everyone—from our youngest residents to our seniors, indoors and outdoors.

Most importantly, you care deeply about community well-being. You’re excited to help build a healthier, more connected Clare—not just through physical activity, but through culture, creativity, leadership, and shared experiences.
